London travel news LIVE: Severe delays on the District line hit tennis fans on way to Wimbledon

Commuters may face interruptions to their journey as we head into rush hour on Tuesday morning.

The District line is currently facing severe delays across its entire line due to a fire alert at South Kensington.

Delays are also impacting the Hammersmith and City line and the Northern line.

Fans on their way to Wimbledon have been left stranded in the 32C heat due to delays on the District line.

TfL has said there are severe delays between Edgware Road and Wimbledon owing to a signal failure.

Platforms are packed in stations including Earl’s Court as passengers wait for updates.

A fault with the signalling system between Alexandra Palace and Stevenage means trains running between these stations may be delayed by up to 10 minutes.

Disruption is expected until 09:30.

Minor delays on the Central line

Minor delays between Leytonstone and Hainault via Newbury Park due to an earlier signal failure at Ealing Broadway.

There is a good service on the rest of the line.

Disruption between Stratford and Gospel Oak expected until 11am

Damage to the overhead wires at Gospel Oak means some lines are blocked. As a result, trains may be cancelled or revised.

Tickets will be accepted on Local Buses via any reasonable route.

Shuttle services from Clapham Junction will terminate and restart at Willesden Junction.

A shuttle service will also be introduced between Stratford and Camden Road.

Delays between London St Pancras International and London Bridge expected until 07:30am

There is a problem under investigation between London St Pancras International and London Bridge, resulting in the line towards London Bridge being blocked.

Trains running between these stations may be delayed by up to 30 minutes.

You can use your ticket at no extra cost on the following:

  • London Underground services between Finsbury Park and London Bridge
  • London Buses across central London

Minor delays on the Hammersmith and City line
