A train has hit an obstruction on the line at New Cross this morning, causing major disruption to Southeastern services.
It comes after millions suffered travel misery on Tuesday, with a a 24-hour Tube strike severely disrupting the London Underground.
Sir Sadiq Khan has urged the RMT and London Underground officials to get back around the negotiating table to avoid a second 24-hour walkout planned for Thursday.
On the tube, the Circle Line is suffering with severe delays due to train cancellations, having been closed for all of Tuesday during the strikes.

Elizabeth line update

There are now severe delays between Chadwell Heath and Shenfield on the Elizabeth line, as well as minor delays between Whitechapel and Chadwell Heath, while TfL remove a tree from the track at Gidea Park.
There is a good service on the rest of the line.
Trespass incident impacting Stansted and Greater Anglia services

A trespass incident in the Broxbourne area means all lines are blocked.
Trains between Cheshunt and Hertford East & Harlow Town may be cancelled or delayed by up to an hour, with major disruption expected throughout the morning.
Police and Network Rail staff are on site.
Stansted Express services between London Liverpool Street and Stansted Airport, as well as a number of Greater Anglia services, will be affected.
Delays through Selhurst

A problem at the depot at Selhurst means that fewer lines than usual are available.
Trains running through this station, including a number of Southern and Gatwick Express services, may be delayed, with disruption expected until around 10am.
Elizabeth line delays

An obstruction on the track at Gidea Park means that Elizabeth line trains have to run at a reduced speed on the line towards Shenfield.
Trains running between Romford and Shenfield may be cancelled or face delays, with disruption expected until around 9.45am.
Tube update

There is now a good service again in the Circle line, as there is on the majority of the London Underground.
The only lines currently reporting any issues are the Central and Jubilee lines, which are both running with minor delays.
Union rep 'complained iPads being supplied by TfL too small to watch Netflix'

A union representative allegedly complained that work iPads being supplied to Tube drivers were “too small to watch Netflix” on.
Reforms to bring in a four-day week for Underground drivers, who earn around £74,000 a year, have been discussed on rail forums.
On one of them, an ex-conductor who is now in middle management, posted: “Honestly, as much as I’m for unions, sometimes the reps just don’t help themselves.
“Rep at a recent meeting to give drivers tablets complained that the screen was too small to watch Netflix on, so they should be given bigger ones. Unreal stuff.”

Jubilee line update

There are now minor delays on the Jubilee line due to train cancellations.
60% of Tube drivers worked on Tuesday

Six out of ten Tube drivers went to work on Tuesday, despite the industrial action by the RMT union.
The 60% figure was slightly up on the April walkouts when it was 57%.
More than half of Tube drivers are members of the Aslef train drivers’ union which is not striking and has firmly backed a proposed four-day week.
However, it is understood that more RMT drivers turned up to work on Tuesday than in the April walkouts in a dispute over the new four-day week for drivers who earn around £74,000-a-year.

Issues at Cricklewood depot

There is an issue with some of the sets of points within Cricklewood depot, meaning fewer lines are available.
Trains are still able to run out of the depot, but some Thameslink services between London and Bedford will be delayed.
Thameslink are monitoring the situation and advising commuters to allow additional time for their journey.

Train cancellations are causing some delays on the Underground network this morning.
There are currently severe delays on the Circle line, minor delays on the Hammersmith & City line, and minor delays between Turnham Green & Ealing Broadway on the District line.
It is unclear whether these cancellations are linked to yesterday’s strike action by the RMT union.
