Eleven people have been evacuated from their homes as 150 firefighters battled a blaze in London’s historic law district.
Twenty-five fire engines were called to a six-storey office building in Holborn’s Chancery Lane late on Saturday following reports of a fire on the roof.
London Fire Brigade said a large amount of the roof and part of the third, fourth and fifth floors were still alight at 7am.
About 28 people left the building before emergency services arrived shortly after 10.40pm.
City of London Police also advised a number of road closures are in place around Chancery Lane and urged people to avoid the area if possible.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
