Travellers reported “absolute carnage” at a major London railway station after an emergency incident caused major disruption to services.
Euston Station was temporarily closed on Sunday night as train services were cancelled or severely delayed.
A number of travellers took to social media to vent their frustration.
One posted on X: “Every train from Euston cancelled. Football fans, NFL fans here. Station now closed because too many people.”
Pictured posted on social media showed crowds of people standing outside the station with the shutters closed.

Absolute carnage
The lines slowly reopened later in the evening. Shortly after 2am, National Rail reported that the disruption had finally cleared.
“Disruption following the emergency services dealing with an earlier incident between Watford Junction and London Euston has now ended,” it said.
Transport for London reported on Monday that Bushey station was closed “while emergency services deal with a casualty on the track”.
Euston Station was at the centre of a row last year after a giant screen used to display departure times was switched off.

The board had been used to display flashing neon adverts after smaller departure boards were erected just above head height in the passenger concourse in a bid to discourage passengers from congregating in the same place and adding to the “Euston rush” bedlam caused when platforms are announced only minutes before the trains depart.
In December, Network Rail announced the giant screen would be switched back on – displaying train departure times rather than adverts.
