Loganair flight makes 'emergency landing' at Manchester Airport

A flight reportedly made an 'emergency landing' in Manchester on Tuesday night (December 20). The Loganair flight, from Aberdeen, Scotland, was scheduled to land in Bristol, but diverted to Manchester Airport after an 'indication fault'.

Flight tracking services say the plane, Loganair flight LOG5PS, was forced to make the landing in Manchester after a 'squawk' alert was issued.

Loganair confirmed that the plane had to divert following a fault and thanked passengers for their 'patience' before they were provided with transport to get back to Bristol.

The flight path shows the route southwards from Aberdeen, before looping around above north Wales and then diverting towards Manchester, before landing shortly after 9pm.

According to FlightRadar24, the plane took off from Aberdeen at 7.40pm, with the flight expecting to take around 90 minutes, before landing in Manchester, rather than its designated destination of Bristol.

Manchester Airport told the Manchester Evening News they were 'aware' the flight was diverted from Bristol into Manchester on Tuesday evening.

A spokesperson for Loganair said: “We can confirm our Aberdeen to Bristol flight LM045 made a precautionary landing in Manchester due to an indication fault. The flight has since landed and Loganair thanks affected passengers for their patience.

“Alternative travel arrangements have been made to ensure customers are transported to Bristol.”
