Alonso, Loftus-Cheek, Pedro - Latest Chelsea injury news and return dates ahead of West Ham game

Chelsea are back in Premier League action against London rivals West Ham United on Monday night.

Maurizio Sarri's side will go into the game on the back of a 3-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion in midweek, a result which has drawn them level on points with Arsenal in the race for a top four finish.

Although the victory did come at a cost as goalscorer Ruben Loftus-Cheek had to be substituted with eight minutes remaining at Stamford Bridge as a precaution over a hamstring problem, but the Italian revealed after the game that he was hopeful it had nothing to with a recurring back issue.

While there was no mention of the hamstring problem on Friday afternoon at the manager's press conference, Sarri was pressed on whether the midfielder would start against West Ham on Monday.

“Maybe, but we need to check every day the condition of his back," he said. This morning, he had only a recovery session because he needs time to recover after a match.

"The problem in this moment is only that, probably, he's not able to play for 90 minutes."

With that said, we have taken a look at the latest situation in the Blues treatment room with the game against the Hammers in mind thanks to the good people at physioroom.com.

Marco van Ginkel remains on the sidelines and there is no return date at present following an ACL knee injury that he sustained in the summer.

Pedro and Marcos Alonso missed the win over the Seagulls completely but should be fit enough to face the Irons, although there is still no update on Ethan Ampadu's fitness after a back problem caused him to pull out of Wales' squad for last month's international break.

Eden Hazard and Cesar Azpilicueta also failed to complete 90 minutes against Brighton, but no injuries have been reported and it just remains to be seen if they're risked with the Europa League quarter-final against Slavia Prague three days later.
