No recommendations have been made yet by NPHET regarding specific restrictions for Limerick and Dublin.
Speaking at a press conference this morning the Government said that as things stand the restrictions will be staying the same.
This comes after both counties saw big leaps in confirmed cases over the last few days.
Taoiseach Micheal Martin confirmed next Tuesday is the date which the government will publish its overall framework and new plan on how to deal with Covid going forward.
The Tanaiste added: “There hasn’t been any recommendations from NPHET on restrictions for Dublin and Limerick at the moment.”
Earlier today Tanaiste Leo Varadkar said that they could consider looking at the situation in places like Glasgow where restrictions on social gatherings have been brought in.
NPHET are set to meet again tomorrow however to discuss all the very latest Covid issues.
