Locals 'angry and upset' after shots are fired at a house in North Dublin

Locals have been left outraged and saddened following a shooting in North Dublin.

The incident, which happened in Finglas on Saturday night, has been condemned by Labour Councillor in the area, Andrew Montague.

He told FM104 on Monday morning that residents were furious about the horrific event and that these actions in the capital need to stop immediately.

He told the station: "There's a lot of anger in the community about it.

"People are very upset that this is happening in their community and that their community has been associated with this.

He added: "We really need to put an end to this violence and stop these shootings."

Gardai are still on the hunt for the gunman who fired the shots at the house in Cappagh Drive.

No injuries or serious damage was reported while a garda spokesperson said the investigation is ongoing.

They said: "Gardai at Finglas in Dublin are investigating reports of shots fired at Cappagh Drive, Finglas at approximately 10.50pm last night, Saturday 13th April 2019.

"Gardai responded to the call. No injuries or damage were reported. Investigations are continuing."

The incident comes just days after a blood-soaked victim crawled into Finglas Garda station following a horror bus stop stabbing.

The innocent man came back into Finglas Garda Station after he was attacked on Liam Mellows Road on Wednesday evening.
