Local election results 2022: Check who won where you live in England

Local elections have taken place across England today (Thursday, May 6). Voters have been choosing local councillors as well as elected mayors in some regions. A total of 200 local authorities across Britain held elections.

Every council seat in Scotland, Wales and London is up for grabs and there are polls across much of the rest of England too. Elected councillors will be taking on issues such as when bins are collected, the state of parks and pavements, and access to libraries and hospitals in their areas.

The elections are also likely to be an indication of what voters think about the main party leaders and their handling of national issues such as the cost of living crisis and the Covid-19 pandemic. It will be the first big electoral test for Boris Johnson since the 'partygate' scandal.
