Livingston new signing can be cut above, says team-mate James Penrice

Livingston ace James Penrice hopes new signing Steven Bradley will be a cut above for the Lions - after the winger received a glowing recommendation from his barber.

Bradley will officially join the Lions on January 1 after agreeing a move from Hibs last week. The 20-year-old earned himself a deal thanks to a pair of fine displays during Livi's winter training camp in Turkey.

The youngster bagged a goal and an assist as David Martindale's side won the Titanic Cup following victories over FK Liepaja and Dutch top flight side Fortuna Sittard.

Penrice commented: "I was at the barber’s last week and he is a Hibs fan and he said we had stolen Bradley from them. He told me he was brilliant, so hopefully he can be for us.

"Steven set me up and he could be a massive player for us for the rest of the season. He was very good in Turkey, he has a great touch and he glides with the ball.

“He impressed the boys in the two games and it’s great he has come in."

The new boy also earned high praise from the skipper with Nicky Devlin commenting: "Steven has been great since he came in. He was over in Turkey training with us, he scored in both the games.

“He’s settled in well. We’ve got quite a young group anyway. He’s fitted in quite easily. I am sure in the weeks to come and over the period of time he will get used to how we work and train.

“He will be a good addition to the squad. He wants to be on the ball and to attack.

“He scored two really good goals over in Turkey and if he can repeat that through the season we will have a really good player on our hands.

“That’s what the club hope he will develop into. He’s obviously still young, still got a lot of learning as well so it’s one that will hopefully be an exciting signing for the club.”
