Livingston boss Gary Holt wants hungry Lions ahead of Motherwell clash

Livingston boss Gary Holt is hoping his Lions can get their teeth into three points tonight as they travel to Fir Park to face Motherwell.

Both sides earned plaudits for their performances last term, but head into the clash without a point to their names after two matches.

And the Livi gaffer says he may have to enlist the help of kitman Stephen 'Cheb' Sproule to counter the silence of playing in front of an empty stadium.

He said: "It’s a different atmosphere and maybe I need to be the adrenaline shot they’d get from the crowd. Maybe I need to get wee Cheb to say a few choice words when they’re in the tunnel so they’re fired up and ready to eat red meat.

“You can come out and hear a pin drop but this is the norm.”

He added: "It's surreal times and that has an impact as well. You spend most of your day thinking 'is this in place, is that in place, has he done that?' and then suddenly you remember you've got a game.

"It's a surreal bubble and myself, the club and the players are trying to get their heads around it.  It's the mental side of things too because it's tough going. Hopefully the game's the release and the game is where you're coming to forget everything and just play."
