Liverpool have suffered a fourth straight defeat across all competitions after being beaten at Anfield by bitter rivals Manchester United on Sunday. Bryan Mbeumo broke the deadlock after just two minutes as he ran on to Amad Diallo’s pass and squeezed the ball under Giorgi Mamardashvili to give the Red Devils a dream start.
There was some controversy surrounding the goal as Alexis Mac Allister was lying on the ground and clutching his head after being caught by team-mate Virgil van Dijk. Despite referees being instructed to halt play due to safety measures whenever a player suffers a head injury, Michael Oliver did not stop the game and Mbeumo was allowed to race through and score.
Liverpool pushed for an equaliser and got their rewardwhen Cody Gakpo turned the ball home from close range. Scholes blasts Man Utd trio

14:15 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneRuben Amorim has confirmed that neither Noussair Mazraoui nor Lisandro Martinez will be fit enough to face Liverpool this afternoon.
Martinez, who has not played all season after suffering an ACL tear back in February against Crystal Palace, is nearing a full recovery, but has only just joined in team training.
“Licha is not available,”Amorim said of the centre-back. “Near [to a return] but he is just returning.”
As for versatile defender Mazraoui, Amorim says he does not know when the Moroccan will be back fit.
Liverpool team news: Double boost but Alisson out
14:10 , Tashan Deniran-AlleyneLiverpool have been handed a huge double injury boost ahead of their meeting with Manchester United after both Ibrahima Konate and Ryan Gravenberch were passed fit.
"Ryan is completely fit,” Reds boss Arne Slot told the media on Friday. "Konate has come back to us and is expected to train today.
However, first-choice goalkeeper Alisson Becker remains sidelined with a hamstring issue and will not face United, while he has also been ruled out of the upcoming trips to Eintracht Frankfurt and Brentford.
Slot added: "Alisson - he is not training, he is out. It's so difficult to say [when he will return], because the end phase of rehab can give positives and negatives, but he will not play this weekend or next week."
