For the first time since 1990, Liverpool can celebrate being English league champions.
Jurgen Klopp has guided the dominant Reds to the 19th title in their history, but crucially a first in the Premier League era as a 30-year - plus a few coronavirus-filled months - wait finally came to an end.
The Reds are once again back on the 'perch' that Sir Alex Ferguson's Manchester United rather unceremoniously knocked them off of back in the early 1990s, but where does this success put them in their ongoing battle for supremacy with their near and not so dear rivals from down the M62?
Well that all depends on who you want to listen to, and the rather problematic existence of the Community Shield.
Because if you were to discount the trophy on offer in the season's traditional curtain-raiser, then Liverpool's major trophy haul stands at 48 following their 19th league title success, which is added to their Club World Cup win in December.
That places them ahead of United, who have 45 major trophies including a record 20 league titles.
But then if you add the Community Shield - included when it was shared after a drawn match (United have done this four times, Liverpool five) - to their respective hauls, then United lead the race to be named as the top club in England.
Their 21 Shields places them on 66 major trophies, ahead of Liverpool (15 Shields) on 63.
So, do you count the Community Shield as a major honour?
Manchester United fans are sure to as it keeps them ahead of their rivals in the ongoing quest for supremacy, but Liverpool fans probably aren't so sure.
