Liverpool vs Burnley: Prediction, kick-off time, TV, live stream, team news, h2h results, odds

Saturday showdown: Liverpool vs Burnley - (London Standard)

Liverpool take on Burnley on Saturday seeking to tighten their grip on fourth place in the Premier League table.

The Premier League champions have endured a tough title defence this term, and find themselves way off the pace-setters Arsenal after an early-season slump.

Arne Slot’s side are back in form now, however, and have risen back up the table to seize the initiative in the tight race for the Champions League.

They are unbeaten since late November, but even then, they have dropped crucial points within that time, particularly against sides in a similar position to Burnley, near the foot of the table.

Scott Parker’s Clarets find themselves precariously adrift in the drop zone, eight points from safety.

They drew with Manchester United last time out, but they need to be turning those draws into wins if they are to claw their way back above the dreaded dotted line.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Liverpool vs Burnley is scheduled for a 3pm GMT kick-off on Saturday, January 17, 2026.

The match will take place at Anfield.

Liverpool vs Burnley team news

The Reds suffered two injury blows over the past week, with young stars Conor Bradley and Rio Ngumoha the latest to be sidelined.

Conor Bradley suffered a season-ending knee injury against Arsenal, while young winger Ngumoha slipped on some astroturf at the edge of the pitch and looked as though he had tweaked somethng in his leg, although Slot insisted that he was suffering from cramp.

It adds to the champions’ further absentees Aleander Isak, Wataru Endo and Giovanni Leoni, while Mohamed Salah is still at AFCON with Egypt.

For Burnley, midfielder Josh Cullen is out for the season with an ACL injury, while Connor Roberts, Zeki Amdouni and Jordan Beyer are longer-term absentees.

Axel Tuanzebe is back from AFCON, while there could be returns for Zian Flemming and Joe Worrall.

Liverpool vs Burnley prediction

The return of Hugo Ekitike is huge for the hosts, and that could spell trouble for Burnley.

Despite them holding their own against United, a trip to Anfield is a different beast, and could be bad news for the Clarets’ goal difference.

Liverpool to win, 3-0.
