Liverpool’s friendly against Napoli at BT Murrayfield has now sold out.
The European Champions take on the Serie A side at the home of Scottish Rugby on Sunday 28 July in front of 67,500 fans.
Their home ground Anfield is unavailable. Using Tottenham Hotspur’s new stadium in London was looked in to but it was decided the Edinburgh venue would host the glamour tie.
Murrayfield has hosted big football matches before, with Hearts and Hibs both playing Barcelona there in pre-season fixtures.
Celtic staged their Champions League qualifying games at the stadium whilst Celtic Park was being used for the Commonwealth Games, while Hearts played several European ties ther ein the mid-2000s as Tynecastle didn’t meet certain UEFA criteria.
Fans who missed out on tickets are encouraged to keep checking Ticketmaster.co.uk as returns will be made available for resale.
