Liverpool 'tracking' Spanish midfielder but 'face competition' from Premier League rivals

Liverpool are said to be among the clubs eyeing a move for Las Palmas midfielder Alberto Moleiro.

The 19-year-old made his first-team breakthrough last season, featuring 38 times in all competitions, and has remained a regular starter for the Spanish second tier side this term as his employers compete for promotion back to La Liga.

Frequently compared to Barcelona star Pedri due to his low centre of gravity and creative play, the Daily Mail have claimed the teenager is being 'tracked' by Arsenal, Liverpool and Real Madrid and 'closely monitored' by Aston Villa.

Moleiro made his first-team debut for Las Palmas at the age of 17 and is now one of the first names on the teamsheet for his club.

Under contract until 2026, his side are said to be resigned to losing him despite being tied down for the next three years.

He has represented Spain at U19 and U21 level and will now have hopes of gradually working his way into the senior side as his rapid progress continues.
