Joel Matip makes his return from injury to start for Liverpool in their final pre-season friendly against Blackpool at Anfield, but Jordan Henderson and Xherdan Shaqiri remain absent.
With Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez away on international duty, 17-year-old Billy Koumetio is given the nod to make his first Reds start alongside the Cameroonian at centre-back.
Meanwhile, Ki-Jana Hoever and James Milner make up the back four in front of Alisson with all four of Jurgen Klopp’s senior full-backs also away with their respective nations.
Having started on the bench for the Community Shield against Arsenal, both Naby Keita and Takumi Minamino come into the starting XI, hinting that Liverpool will again experiment with the 4-2-3-1 formation that they finished in at Wembley, with Fabinho retaining his position.
Elsewhere, Divock Origi also returns from injury but is named on the substitutes’ bench, with the traditional front three of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino all handed starts against the Seasiders.
Nat Phillips and Loris Karius are also on the bench despite speculation about their Reds futures, with Adrian, Curtis Jones, Leighton Clarkson, Harvey Elliott and Sepp Van den Berg making up the rest of Klopp's reserve options.
Liverpool team: Alisson, Hoever, Matip, Koumetio, Milner, Fabinho, Keita, Minamino, Mane, Salah, Firmino
Subs: Adrian, Karius, Jones, Origi, Phillips, Clarkson, Elliott, Van den Berg
