Liverpool team confirmed as Nat Phillips starts against West Ham

Nat Phillips makes his Premier League debut as Jurgen Klopp makes six changes for the visit of West Ham.

The centre-back, who spent last season on loan in the Bundesliga II with Stuttgart, is named alongside Joe Gomez as Liverpool continue without Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip or Fabinho.

In midfield, Curtis Jones is named alongside captain Jordan Henderson and Gini Wijnaldum as Klopp shifts back to a 4-3-3 after operating with a two-man engine room for the wins over Sheffield United and FC Midtjylland over the last week.

Diogo Jota, despite scoring twice in those games, drops to the bench as Klopp brings in Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.

Should Liverpool avoid defeat against David Moyes's Hammers this evening, then the Reds will go top of the league.

Liverpool: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Phillips, Robertson; Henderson, Wijnaldum, Jones; Salah, Firmino, Mane.

Subs: Adrian, Milner, Minamino, Jota, Shaqiri, R Williams, N Williams.
