Liverpool star pushing for return from injury ahead of Crystal Palace clash

Crystal Palace Liverpool Alisson Becker Arne Slot

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has indicated that goalkeeper Alisson Becker is nearing a return from a hamstring injury, but it remains uncertain if he will be fit to face Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday.
Second-choice goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili is definitely unavailable for the Crystal Palace match and for several weeks due to a significant cut sustained in last weekend’s Merseyside derby.
Should Alisson not recover in time, third-choice goalkeeper Freddie Woodman, who made his Premier League debut for Liverpool as a substitute last weekend, would be required to start against Crystal Palace.
Despite Liverpool triggering a one-year contract extension for Alisson until 2027, reports from Italy suggest Juventus may be interested in signing the Brazilian international this summer.
Slot declined to comment on transfer rumours regarding Alisson's long-term future, stating his focus is solely on getting the goalkeeper back on the pitch as soon as possible.
