Liverpool squad numbers available to Arthur Melo in transfer deadline day signing

Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp may be forced into some late business, with the Reds looking to wrap up a deal for Arthur Melo on transfer deadline day.

Darwin Nunez, Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay have all been brought to Merseyside so far this summer, but the Reds have endured an inconsistent start to the 22/23 campaign. Last weekend's 9-0 win over Bournemouth was their first victory of the campaign, before being followed up by last night's dramatic 2-1 win over Newcastle.

FSG's transfer dealings in the past have been quick when required, and they now look set to dip into the loan market. However, there is not a lot of time left to complete a deal before today's deadline.

Jordan Henderson's injury seems to have kicked the Reds into action, with a loan deal for Juventus man Arthur in the works to further bolster Jurgen Klopp's options. The Merseyside derby presents the next test and Liverpool will hope to get any potential deal over the line in the hours that remain.

If Melo is to sign late on in the window, there is a whole host of different numbers available to the Brazilian, with the 26-year-old previously sporting the 29 with the Old Lady, currently vacant at Anfield should a deal be completed. His current No.5 is currently occupied by Ibrahima Konate though, meaning he will have to look for a different option.

Joe Gomez changed his shirt number during the summer, as he now wears the No.2. His old number, along with a host of others, are still available for any potential new signings Liverpool could bring in before the window closes.

The squad numbers available for any potential incomings are 10, 12, 16, 18, 24, 25, 29, 30.
