Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool to be handed major boost by 'almost certain' World Cup decision

It took just one evening to reaffirm what had been glaringly obvious to Liverpool supporters during a difficult start to the season.

This Reds side just aren't the same without Thiago Alcantara conducting matters in midfield.

The 31-year-old, making his first start following a hamstring injury that sidelined him for a month, was excellent in driving Jurgen Klopp's side towards a 2-1 home Champions League triumph over Ajax last time out.

But while Thiago is a vital cog for his club, the same cannot be said for his country, with Spain once again overlooking him for the UEFA Nations League games at home to Switzerland on Saturday and in Portugal on Tuesday.

Liverpool can sign 'breathtaking' forward to help Darwin Nunez in January transfer window

Even though it’s been a few weeks since the transfer window closed, and even longer until it reopens again, Liverpool are still being linked with a potential new player.

This time it’s Shakhtar Donetsk forward Mykhaylo Mudryk who is reportedly of interest to the Reds. Various reports have claimed that Liverpool could make a move for the Ukraine international when the January transfer window opens.

Mudryk has also attracted interest from across the Premier League. Shakhtar chief Darijo Srna confirmed that a bid worth €30million from Everton was rejected, while Arsenal have also been heavily linked.
