Liverpool selling 450 items from training ground including trophies and Jurgen Klopp artwork

Liverpool's title defence may have been demolished, but their fans still have the chance to witness historic honours this season.

That’s because the famous Champions Wall from the cub’s Melwood training ground is one of hundreds of lots set to be auctioned, after the doors closed on the famous training base for the final time.

The iconic wall boasts all of Liverpool ’s 48 major trophies, but if the eye-watering £15,000 estimate is beyond your price tag, then how about a slightly less famous trophy…a cup celebrating the Melwood Chinese New Year 2020 Table Tennis Cup (surely won by Virgil van Dijk!)?

And for those who think Liverpool’s season is fast sinking, and the team not waving but drowning, then perhaps lot 249 would be more appropriate - a genuine lifebuoy ring from the swimming pool at Melwood.

Or for those who believe Klopp’s heavy metal football will swiftly return to its glory levels, then the perfect buy is an artwork that graced the training ground hallways, of Klopp thrashing a guitar in rock band pose.

The auction will help raise funds for the club’s official charity The LFC Foundation, and almost 400 items covering the club’s 70 year history at Melwood can be viewed through the auctioneer Graham Budd Auctions.

Other more unusual items in the auction include coat pegs, lockers and even a dart board from the canteen.

And the Melwood Training Facility sign which players saw when they arrived at the complex is expected to reach up to an eye-watering £10,000.

Liverpool completed their move to a new £50m training centre in Kirkby in November last year.

It includes three full-size pitches, two gyms, a sports hall and even padel tennis courts.
