Liverpool's Andy Robertson sends message to Kieran Tierney over Arsenal transfer

Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson believes that fellow Scotsman Kieran Tierney will make the right decision about his future with Arsenal chasing the 22-year-old.

Tierney has helped Celtic to four consecutive Scottish Premiership titles and two Scottish Cup successes since making his debut for the club back in 2015.

With 170 appearances under his belt, Tierney has become a household first team name and his performances have captured the attention of those at the Emirates.

Arsenal have been heavily linked with the Scottish international as they look to strengthen their defence however, they are yet to agree a fee with Celtic.

According to the Metro , the Gunners are locked in discussions with the Scottish champions over the transfer fee and remain hopeful they can strike an agreement.

Tierney has received high praise from his international team mate, Robertson, who thinks his fellow left-back will make the correct choice for his future this summer.

He told Sky Sports: "I've played with KT for Scotland and he's played right back and centre back. I've watched him and he's a very good footballer. Last season he obviously had his injury problems.

"Whatever happens with KT is up to him and the people around him. He'll make the right choice. He's a Celtic boy through and through and you can't take that away from him. Let's see how it unfolds. Good luck to him whatever he does."

Some rumours suggested that Tierney was being tracked by Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti but the Italian has ruled them out of the race for the full-back.

He said: "Honestly, I'm not interested in signing him. He is a really good young left back but he is a Celtic player. We are looking for a lot of players for this coming season but he is a Celtic player and we have two good left backs. But honestly I can say he is a really good player."

Unai Emery has already secured deals for Dani Ceballos , Gabriel Martinelli and William Saliba with the latter returning to parent club Saint-Etienne on loan.

Meanwhile, the Gunners have made a huge statement of intent after agreeing a fee of £72 million with Lille for Nicolas Pepe with the finite details of that deal awaiting completion.
