Liverpool's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain tests massage skills on pop star girlfriend Perrie Edwards

Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain may have found his new career once he hangs up his boots after trying out his massage technique on pop star girlfriend Perrie Edwards.

Footballers are having to find new ways to keep themselves entertained after the coronavirus outbreak led to the suspension of games around the globe.

Many, including Barcelona's Lionel Messi and Man Utd new boy Bruno Fernandes, have taken part in the Stay At Home challenge, which sees athletes play keepy-uppy with a roll of toilet paper at home.

Cesc Fabregas, meanwhile, has been acting out scenes from the Eddie Murphy film 'Coming to America' at his Monaco home, while Man City striker Sergio Aguero has been making pizzas with partner Sofi Calzetti.

The Ox, though, has been spending plenty of time with Edwards, one quarter of the girlband Little Mix, with the pair sharing their self-isolation at home on Instagram.

Earlier this week, the loved-up duo became internet sensations after Perrie posted a clip showing how the England international had picked up on some of her trademark dance moves.

And it seems the Champions League winner's list of talents don't end there as he gave his girlfriend a foot rub as they watched TV on Thursday night.

All seemed to be going well as Oxlade-Chamberlain gently caressed his partner's foot, looking to soothe any tension she may have had in the area.

However, as the clip went on, it soon became apparent the 26-year-old still has plenty to learn in the massage game as he began to work vigariously on Perrie's foot, causing her to call out in pain.

The England star tried to defend himself, telling the Little Mix singer he was giving her a 'sports message'.

The pop star, though, disagreed and captioned the clip: "He mixed my ice cream then started giving me a foot massage. I thought 2020 was looking up for a second before he nearly broke me (sic) foot with a 'sports massage'."

With Premier League games now suspended until April 30 at the earliest, the Ox will have plenty of time to work on his massage technique.
