Liverpool result vs West Ham could see Jurgen Klopp match record set by Bob Paisley

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has the chance to create yet more Anfield history this weekend.

The Reds will be hoping to make it two Premier League wins on the bounce when they take on West Ham tomorrow evening.

Klopp’s side came from behind last weekend to edge out Sheffield United thanks to goals from Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota.

While the Reds also made it two from two in the Champions League against FC Midtjylland in the week.

Klopp watched his team overcome Ajax in Amsterdam last week and then a 2-0 win at Anfield against the Danish side on Wednesday night.

Goals from Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah sealed the points - but an injury blow to Fabinho gave the Kop boss an extra headache in defence.

But one constant over the last few seasons has been Liverpool’s home form, which has been nothing short of remarkable since Klopp’s arrival.

So much so, that if the Reds don’t lose at Anfield this weekend then they will match an incredible club record.

The Reds are currently unbeaten in their last 62 Premier League home games, winning 51 and drawing 11, and if they avoid defeat against the Hammers tomorrow evening, they will equal the longest ever unbeaten home run in the club's league history.

As things stand, that record was set between February 1978 and December 1980 and saw the Reds go 63 games unbeaten under the guidance of Bob Paisley.

The Liverpool legend won twenty trophies in nine seasons in charge of the club and brought players like Sir Kenny Dalglish, Alan Hansen, Graeme Souness, Alan Kennedy, Ronnie Whelan, Ian Rush and Mark Lawrenson to Anfield.

Paisley won three European Cups, six league championships, three League Cups and one UEFA Cup during his time with the club.

And while Jurgen Klopp still has some way to go before matching those achievements, he can at least create another piece of his own Anfield history tomorrow evening.
