With just 50 days to go until Christmas many of Liverpool’s restaurants are booking fast for the festive season.
With people having missed out on festive parties last year during the pandemic, this is year is proving to be more popular as people look to make up for lost time.
The Marco Pierre White steakhouse in Liverpool say bookings for the festive season have hit “an all time high”, with people busy planning get-togethers with friends and family, having missed out last year during the pandemic.

Ben Morcombe, general manager at the Chapel Street restaurant said: “Once we reopened back in the summer, demand to eat out reached unprecedented levels. The bookings have now continued into the autumn, with the reservations for December also coming in thick and fast - we are already nearly fully booked!
“My advice for anyone thinking about celebrating Christmas with us is to get in touch now before it’s too late. Pent- up demand, not only from last Christmas but from the various lockdowns, means guests are looking to celebrate in style and make up for lost time.
“We have an excellent festive menu, created by Marco himself, featuring some holiday favourites, carefully chosen by the award-winning chef.”
Meanwhile, The Watering Can in Greenbank Park is proving a popular alternative to a night out in the city centre. From the end of November there’s already high demand for its Sunday roasts and its late night Fridays and Saturdays bookings are filling up.
Owner Keith Perryman said: “We have such a pretty setting and we are taking lots of bookings for groups of friends and families who are meeting up before Christmas to exchange gifts and celebrate.
“We have noticed that our December Sunday roast bookings are definitely filling up fast and we have some festive plans in the coming weeks to bring a little bit of magic to The Watering Can. We are hoping to have a choir and a brass band, along with Christmassy crafts and wreath making.
“We are looking forward to celebrating the most magical times of year with our guests and we are busy making sure that we add a bit of sparkle”.
On Allerton Road, East River is almost at capacity for Saturday nights in December, with people urged to book quick to avoid disappointment.

Josh Roberts, owner of East River, said: “We’ve been overwhelmed by the response to Christmas at East River so far. The Saturdays throughout December leading up to Christmas are almost fully booked and our Fridays are looking busy too!
“On Christmas Eve we have a couple of tables left but we’ve had many bookings as we have live entertainment until 1am and on New Year's Eve our guests can expect the same.
“We’d recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment. Thank you to everyone who has already booked with us this Christmas - we can’t wait to celebrate with you all.”
