Liverpool queens can apply for series 5 of RuPaul's Drag Race UK

Another series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK has been confirmed.

The fifth season of the critically acclaimed and award-winning series was officially announced online with the social media accounts for the series calling “all UK queens” to register their interest in the new season by Friday, September 16. In an accompanying video, global drag icon, RuPaul said he was on the hunt for “charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent”, before urging drag queens to “contact us now” but only “if you’ve got what it takes”.

Fans were quick to express their excitement in response to the tweet. @TheGaysTM tweeted: “Yaaaaaaaaaaas more #dragraceuk!” @federicoghinart added: “RUPAUL NEVER SLEEP. NO STOP WORKING QUEEN.” @AFDSJunior penned “I'm so happy my favourite drug still hitting.” @evilcheltdevil wrote: “Blimey, they don’t hang about over there!”

The announcement comes days after it was revealed that series four of the franchise would be returning to our TV screens on BBC Three at 9 pm on Thursday, September 22. The much-anticipated series is set to feature the likes of Alison Hammond and Boy George as special guest judges and in typical fashion, fans expect to see RuPaul accompanied by Michelle Visage, Graham Norton and Alan Carr on the judging panel.

Whilst the queens for season four have yet to be announced, many fans believe Liverpool’s Danny Beard is appearing on the upcoming series. The speculation on online forums comes after an absence of social media and in-person gigs during the time of the filming of the BBC series. This would mean Danny would be the third Liverpool queen to appear in the competition following in the footsteps of The Vivienne and Sister Sister.
