Liverpool 'plotting' £102m double transfer bid for Juventus duo

Liverpool are being linked with a double transfer swoop for two Juventus players.

Jurgen Klopp has already been busy in the transfer market this summer, bringing in three new faces. Darwin Nunez, Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay have been added to the Reds’ ranks ahead of the new campaign.

Anfield sources have indicated that Liverpool are happy with their incoming transfer business. It is believed the Reds do not expect to see any further signings before the window closes.

However, according to reports from Italy, Klopp is keen to bring in two new players from Juventus. As claimed by La Gazzetta Dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport, via Paisley Gates , Matthijs de Ligt and Adrien Rabiot are targets for Liverpool this summer.

It has been reported that Juventus are looking to raise funds for further transfers - and could sell De Ligt and Rabiot to do that. De Ligt, a Holland international team-mate of Virgil van Dijk, is valued in excess of £85m, while Rabiot has been handed a £17m valuation. The France international midfielder had previously been linked with Liverpool in a 'swap deal' for Roberto Firmino.

The latest report from Italy adds that the Reds could make a move for Rabiot with a bid before the window closes. While on the subject of De Ligt, it has been reported that they are looking to sign the defender, too, with Chelsea, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City and Bayern Munich also credited with an interest.

Liverpool are already well stocked at centre-back, with an array of options at Klopp’s disposal. Van Dijk, Joel Matip, Ibrahima Konate and Joe Gomez are the senior options available to the Reds boss, with the latter currently in talks over a contract extension.
