Liverpool ONE shops closed after woman pulls out knife in store

A number of Liverpool ONE shops were closed after a woman pulled out a knife inside a store.

Merseyside Police confirmed they were called at 17.28pm on Wednesday, February 1, following reports of a woman pulling out a knife inside the Samsung shop in Liverpool ONE. Officers arrived shortly after and "quickly" arrested a 31-year-old woman.

A number of shops including Samsung and Pandora reportedly closed while the incident was being handled by the emergency services. Nobody was injured during and police have confirmed no member of staff inside Samsung, any member of the public or police officers were threatened during the incident.

All shops were reopened to the public by 6.50pm. One eyewitness, who asked not to be named, said: "A woman was in the Samsung shop and pulled out a knife and wouldn't put it away so they called security who called the police.

"She was escorted away and Pandora and Samsung were closed for a little while. I don't think she meant any harm but you can't just get a knife out in a shop."

Police have said there is no wider threat to the public.
