Liverpool miss Arsenal chance as brilliant Premier League scoring run ends

Liverpool’s loss against Leicester City on Tuesday night not only put a dent in their title hopes, but it also denied the Reds the chance to match Arsenal’s impressive record.

Ademola Lookman’s second half goal was enough for Leicester to claim the win after Mohamed Salah saw his penalty saved in the first half at the King Power.

The Reds had scored in their previous 34 matches, but Leicester’s makeshift back line was able to keep the likes of Salah off the scoresheet.

Brendan Rodgers ’ side were the first side this season to stop Liverpool from scoring as the Reds sit at the top of the scoring charts.

Leicester had kept just two clean sheets all season before making it three with their shutout against Liverpool.

The clean sheet means that Arsenal's 2001/02 double-winning side remains the only team to score a goal in every single league match.

A side containing the likes of Dennis Bergkamp, Robert Pires and Thierry Henry were not to be denied two decades ago and Liverpool missed the chance to match a stunning record.
