Liverpool make €100m 'offer' for Darwin Nunez and enter Bukayo Saka transfer race

The transfer window will open later this week and Liverpool's business is well underway having wrapped up a deal for Fulham's Fabio Carvalho. It is also understood they are closing in on Aberdeen right-back Calvin Ramsay.

However, with Sadio Mane linked with a move away and Divock Origi out of contract, there are areas of the squad that will need further strengthening if the Reds are to compete on all fronts once again next term.

With that being said, here's all the latest Liverpool transfer gossip from around the globe.

Who?

Darwin Nunez

Where?

Record

What?

Liverpool are willing to make Darwin Nunez their club-record signing and have reportedly offered Benfica €100m (£85m) to secure his services.

That is according to one leading Portuguese outlet, who also add there is another club prepared to pay more than this fee but Nunez is said to prefer playing under Jurgen Klopp.

And now Dominic King, the Northern Football Correspondent for the Daily Mail, has tweeted: "Liverpool want to sign Darwin Nunez and are prepared to smash their transfer record to get him. Nunez keen on Liverpool, Man United and Atletico Madrid also interested in him."

Who?

Arnaut Danjuma

Where?

What?

Liverpool have been 'following' Villarreal attacker Arnaut Danjuma since January, a report has claimed.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed on the 'Here We Go' podcast that, despite being under contract until 2026, the 25-year-old is believed to have a release clause in his contract worth roughly €45m (£38m).

He added: “Liverpool have been following him since January, let’s see if they will jump into it.”

The Reds will of course be in the market for an attacker if Sadio Mane is to leave the club for Bayern Munich in the coming weeks. Darwin Nunez has also been linked, although Liverpool have made it clear they will not pay over the odds for the Benfica man.

Who?

Ismaila Sarr

Where?

Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth

What?

Rumoured Liverpool target Ismaila Sarr could be on the move this summer as Watford are reportedly willing to listen to 'sensible' offers for the winger.

The Reds were long linked with the Senegalese prior to their move for Luis Diaz, but it seems Watford may finally be ready to sell the 24-year-old. He currently has two years left on his contract at Vicarage Road.

Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth revealed on Twitter: "Sarr has 2 years left on his contract, Watford will consider “sensible offers"." However, he noted that Newcastle United are keen on the player.

Who?

Bukayo Saka

Where?

Daily Mail

What?

Liverpool are among the clubs in the race for Arsenal starlet Bukayo Saka. The Reds have previously been linked with the 20-year-old, but fresh reports suggest they could battle it out with Manchester City for his signature.

The Daily Mail claim City have 'stepped up' their interest in a bid to get ahead of rivals Liverpool in the pecking order. They add that while a move is not expected this summer, the clubs are closely monitoring Saka's situation and any developments regarding his future.

While Jurgen Klopp will be in the market for an attacker in the upcoming transfer window as they prepare for life without Sadio Mane, given Saka is a right-sided player, he may not fit the bill in terms of what Liverpool need in the immediate future.
