Liverpool line up confirmed for Arsenal as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain starts

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been given a starting role for Liverpool against former club Arsenal this evening.

Oxlade-Chamberlain will operate in his preferred central midfield role at the Emirates having been given the nod by Reds manager Jurgen Klopp.

He is joined in the engine room by Fabinho and Gini Wijnaldum, with Naby Keita among the substitutes and both James Milner and Jordan Henderson absent through injury.

Alisson Becker is in goal, while Trent Alexander-Arnold returns at right-back in place of the benched Neco Williams.

Andy Robertson, Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez complete the Liverpool back line.

Up front, Mohamed Salah makes his 150 competitive appearance for the Reds as part of the usual trio with Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.

Arsenal make five changes, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang among the substitutes.

Liverpool, who will again receive a guard of honour as Premier League champions, need to win to keep alive their hopes of smashing Manchester City’s 100-point record.
