Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher's perfect response to Manchester United jibe

Jamie Carragher has further cemented his legendary status at Liverpool with a brilliant swipe aimed at Manchester United.

The Reds face United after the international break on October 20 and the club's current run of form was naturally under discussion in one of the former defender's most recent interviews.

Liverpool are eight points clear at the top of the Premier League thanks to eight consecutive victories, with reigning champions Manchester City trailing behind in second.

United, meanwhile, have had some serious struggles to start the season which include defeats against Crystal Palace, West Ham and Newcastle.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under pressure as the Red Devils have only managed to amass nine points from eight matches.

And Carragher could not wait to pour misery on United during an appearance on talkSPORT.

Whilst the former England international was initially asked about whether Liverpool had printed out title winning t-shirts, he had quite the witty response.

Liverpool fans infamously prematurely printed t-shirts declaring that they were going to win the league during the 2013/14 season under Brendan Rodgers when Man City edged the Reds by two points.

But Carragher was quick to deflect the banter towards United during his stint on talkSPORT.

Asked if Liverpool have printed out any t-shirts yet, Carragher responded: "Yes, how bad are Manchester United?"

On Liverpool's title chances, Carragher added: "We will see. If Liverpool can gain an eight-point lead over Manchester City, then Manchester City can claw that back over 30 games.

"But Liverpool's next two games are Manchester United away and Tottenham at home. It's always difficult for Liverpool to go to United. The record is not great there."
