Liverpool is getting a new roller disco with street food and cocktails plus a giant 'floating spaceship'.
The rollerdrome concept by the city's Invisible Wind Factory will see the iconic venue on Regent Road transformed into a unique roller-skating experience.
Debuting on Saturday, May 22, the immersive production is open to skaters of all abilities, from beginners to advanced, across a range of classes.
The first season's theme is an interplanetary disco with mirrored geometry, laser grids and a giant floating spaceship, creating an other-worldly adventure.
Some of the new additions to Invisible Wind Factory include a permanent wooden dance floor and a range of quality skating gear to hire.
If you fancy a bite to eat, there will also be street food on offer plus a cafe and bar service with cocktails and soft drinks available.
IWF’s Rollerdrome will offer a wide range of fitness classes and skating events each week, collaborating with a host of skaters, promoters and artists, including the Liverpool Disco Festival.
The Festival plan to host a range of events featuring international DJs and live acts under their own banner, 'United Skates' every Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Invisible Wind Factory said: "We've taken this opportunity to link fitness and sport activities with an immersive audio visual experience, and we're really excited about turning fitness on its head to create something genuinely experimental and unseen before.
"We will continue to host world-class live music and club nights, working with local and national promoters but with more on offer during, the daytimes. After a year or more away, we want to offer people the ultimate dance floor to return to."

Liverpool Disco Festival said: "We are stoked to finally launch our new ‘United Skates’ concept. Skating parties at our festival events have always proven super popular and now the plan is to take things up to the next level and deliver these regular sessions, uniting people via skating.

IWF added that the safety of visitors is paramount with stringent plans in place to ensure a safe and Covid secure experience for all visitors from start to finish.
