Joe Gomez could be out for six weeks after Liverpool confirmed he suffered a lower leg fracture in Wednesday's 3-1 victory over Burnley.
The England defender was carried off on a stretcher in the first half at Turf Moor following a challenge with Ben Mee.
A statement on the club's official website read: "Gomez's injury was further assessed by the Reds' medical team at Melwood on Thursday.
"Initial indications suggest the 21-year-old is facing a spell of up to six weeks out of action, though this is dependent on how his treatment and rehabilitation programmes progress."
Sadio Mane is a major doubt after suffering a foot injury.
Jurgen Klopp said: "Sadio really had an awful cut on his foot. It needed to be stitched. In this moment he is not ready, but we will see later."
Klopp has something of a defensive headache, with Andy Robertson and Dejan Lovren doubtful after missing out at Turf Moor, while Nathaniel Clyne is also missing through injury.
Dominic Solanke is a doubt to feature against the Cherries with a groin injury. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain remains sidelined.
