Liverpool icon Jamie Carragher explains why he feels sorry for Christian Eriksen at Tottenham

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has said he feels sorry for Christian Eriksen at Tottenham Hotspur ahead of the Champions League final in Madrid.

The Lilywhites face off against Jurgen Klopp's side at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium on Saturday as they seek to become only the second London side to win club football's biggest prize.

Many feel the odds lie in Liverpool's favour though, with the Reds aiming for redemption after losing the final to Real Madrid in Kiev last season, but Tottenham certainly have players who can cause problems.

Carragher has stated that Denmark international Eriksen is one of them, although he then went on to explain why he feels sorry for the reported Real Madrid transfer target.

“I think the ones who fear me are probably [Christian] Eriksen and [Heung-min] Son. Son’s power and pace and Eriksen’s ability on the ball," he told The Anfield Wrap Podcast when asked which Spurs players he fears.

“I feel sorry sometimes for Eriksen. He’s that important for Tottenham that you have to play him every game. Sometimes you see him he actually looks a little bit tired or not quite himself.

“When he’s on it, he is a massive player for them.”
