Liverpool hotter than Canary Island as Bank Holiday temperatures soar

Liverpool will be hotter than a Canary Island as Bank Holiday temperatures soar.

The good weather follows a recent spate of gale force winds and thunderstorms as the region was battered by torrential rain.

But temperatures have gradually increased , with highs of 22C expected today.

This is hotter than La Palma in the Canary Islands, which will be experiencing a maximum of 18C.

The Met Office said: "There will be early low cloud and fog patches inland which will soon clear to give another fine day, with plenty of warm sunshine.

"However, some low cloud may linger along the coasts throughout the day, where it will feel a little fresher.

"There will also be a fine end to the day, with plenty of warm sunshine.

"It will stay dry with clear spells overnight, although some low cloud and fog may affect some coastal areas."

Temperatures will drop on Tuesday to a warm 19C, as low cloud and fog patches soon clear to give some bright or sunny spells.

However, some showers, possibly heavy and thundery, will move northeast during the day.
