Normal visiting arrangements have been suspended at three Liverpool hospital due to an increase in Covid cases.
Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has announced that normal visiting will be suspended from tomorrow (December 30) at the Royal Liverpool, Aintree University Hospital and Broadgreen University Hospital.
The trust said the suspension was due to a rise in Covid cases.

The trust announced that there will be a number of exceptions to the suspension of visiting at the three sites.
Two visitors will be allowed to see patients who are receiving end of life care. Other exceptions would also be made.
The statement read: "From 30 December 2021, visiting arrangements will once again be limited to the following exceptional circumstances: "A maximum of two visitors for patients who are in their last hours / days and receiving end of life care. One carer that is supporting someone with a mental health issue, cognitive impairment such as dementia, a learning disability or autism, where not being present would cause the patient to be distressed. In exceptional cases, consideration will be given to individual requests following a comprehensive risk assessment."
Members of the public who wish to visit relatives in hospital are urged to check in advance with relevant wards to find out what the arrangements are.
According to the latest data from Public Health England, there were 19,583 positive covid infections in the seven days ending December 24 in the Liverpool City Region.
This meant that Liverpool City Region's week-on-week percentage change figure increased by 103%.
