Liverpool handed fixture change but Champions League question still remains

Liverpool’s fixture schedule has undergone a slight change, and it could have an effect on their last remaining hope of success this season.

The Reds’ premier League title defence has not gone to plan one bit, as they battle to scrape a place in the top four in the final few weeks of the season.

However, there is still hope in the form of the Champions League, and a quest for title number seven is still not impossible.

The Premier League have announced that Liverpool’s away trip to Arsenal has been moved to Sunday, April 4, having originally been scheduled for Saturday, and will now kick off at 4.30pm.

But the club have confirmed: "This fixture is subject to further change dependent on the scheduling of the Reds’ Champions League quarter-final ties."

It has also been confirmed that Liverpool’s home clash against Aston Villa on Saturday, April 10, will not be moved and will remain a 3pm kick-off.

Liverpool are due to take on their quarter-final opponents in the Champions League a few days after their trip to the Emirates Stadium, while the second leg taking place the following week just after the clash against Villa.

The first leg is due to take place either on 6/7 April, while the return fixture is a week later either on April 13/14.

Liverpool then take on Leeds United away from home in the league on the weekend of 17/18.

It is not yet known who the Reds will face in the last eight of European competition, with the draw taking place later this week.
