Liverpool handed fixture advantage in Man City title race after Crystal Palace draw

Liverpool have the chance to go top of the table before Manchester City next play in the Premier League.

City were held to a goalless draw by Crystal Palace on Monday night at Selhurst Park - despite dominating possession.

Liverpool - who have a game in hand on Pep Guardiola’s side - initially closed the gap on City on Saturday afternoon to three points.

Jurgen Klopp’s side claimed a 2-0 win over Brighton at the Amex Stadium thanks to goals from Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah to maintain their title bid.

But after City’s draw on Monday night, the Reds now have the chance to move to the top of the table in the coming weeks.

The Reds are currently four points behind City in the table and return to action when they take on Arsenal on Wednesday night.

Should Liverpool win at the Emirates Stadium, then they would move to one point behind City having played the same number of games.

And with Liverpool then back in action on April 2 against Watford, Jurgen Klopp’s side could be top before City take on Burnley at the Etihad on the same day due to their far better goal difference.

Liverpool kick-off at 12.30pm, while City kick-off a couple of hours later at 3pm in Manchester.
