Liverpool FC captain makes surprise Manchester United and Harry Maguire transfer admission

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has admitted that he expects Harry Maguire to be a good signing for Manchester United.

Maguire has moved to Old Trafford from Leicester City for a world record defender fee of £80million. He has signed a six-year contract at United and becomes their third signing of the summer.

"I am delighted to have signed for this great club," Maguire told the club's official site.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Leicester and would like to thank everyone at the club, and the fans, for their fantastic support over the past two seasons.

"However, when Manchester United come knocking on your door, it is an incredible opportunity."

Speaking to Sky Sports, Henderson conceded that he was impressed by the latest business at United as his England team-mate heads to join Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer's project.

He said: "I lot of people will talk about the money and things like that but for Manchester United it is obviously a good signing as I think Harry is a fantastic player.

"He'll do a fantastic job there I am sure.

"I want to wish him all the best although not when we play against them. Hopefully he won't be play very well then.

"He's a great lad and it's a great move for him so I am sure he will do very well there."
