Liverpool FC anthem played during mass as priest tells Man Utd fans to 'suck it up'

A priest from Kilkenny told Manchester United fans to 'suck it up' as he played Liverpool's famous 'You'll Never Walk Alone' anthem during mass.

The song was played through the speakers during mass in Mooncoin, Co Kilkenny, as Fr Tobin celebrated Liverpool's Premier League glory after a 30-year wait to lift the trophy.

Fr Tobin was praising his parishioners for their "extraordinary" efforts during the coronavirus pandemic before playing the final hymn of the day, reports the Irish Mirror.

He said: "These times have not been ordinary, they have been extraordinary.

"But you have also been extraordinary good, and for that I thank you.

"And for all the people from Liverpool or who support Liverpool, we are going to have our final hymn for you this morning and let the Man Uniteds, and the Man Citys, and the Chelseas, and all the rest of them, suck this up."

The popular parish priest then played the iconic tune through the church speakers.

Footage taken from the live stream of the service was posted to an Irish Liverpool fans social media page where fans praised Fr Tobin for his actions.

One said: "We are so lucky to have Fr Tobin. Every Parish could do with a priest like him.

"He really understands people and is loved by all the school kids."

Another said: "That was great he did that! Well done Fr Tobin."

The video has been shared hundreds of times online and is sure to have Manchester United fans reeling.
