Liverpool dealt worrying injury blow with Mohamed Salah forced off in FA Cup final

Liverpool were dealt another injury blow during Saturday’s FA Cup final with Chelsea.

Already without the influential Fabinho after the Brazilian picked up a hamstring injury during the Premier League win at Aston Villa, Jurgen Klopp watched Mohamed Salah limp off just over half-an-hour into the Wembley showpiece.

Salah went down needing treatment and was replaced by Diogo Jota just as Thomas Tuchel’s side were growing into the game.

The opening stages had been dominated by Liverpool with Luis Diaz causing all sorts of problems, though both Christian Pulisic and Marcos Alonso went close as the first-half went on.

While Klopp has plenty of options in attack, Liverpool can ill-afford to be without their talisman.

They return to Premier League duty on Tuesday with a trip to Southampton before hosting Wolves on the final day and Klopp’s side need to win both to have a hope of catching Manchester City.

At the end of the month, Real Madrid await in the Champions League final, a rematch of the 2018 affair that saw Salah forced off with a shoulder injury after a collision with Sergio Ramos.
