Liverpool close to selling out limited edition Champions blackout jersey

'Blackout kits' have been among the most popular items on Liverpool FC's online store over the last couple of years.

Memorable shirts from glory years gone by have been given dark-design makeovers - and each have struck a chord with sections of the club's fanbase.

While they are fairly indiscernible at first glance, their subtlety, rarity and uniqueness have made them a hit.

Among the retro jerseys that have been given previous 'blackout' treatment are the '73 home shirt and the 'Istanbul' shirt from 2005.

All of the previous blackout jerseys have been well-received, but the latest to be released - the now-iconic 2019/20 home kit - has proven particularly popular.

The kit worn by the team this year - the last in the New Balance years - will forever be attached with this year's success. And with recent events still very much fresh in the memory, items have been flying off the proverbial shelves on LFC's website.

As of now, the kit is priced at a rather eye-watering £250 and is only available in either Small or Extra Large. Whether more sizes will return remains to be seen, but with their 'exclusive' nature it's probably unlikely.

Elsewhere on the LFC online store, the EPL Champions range was updated with new items this week. Demand, once again, has made most of the items within it elusive. They can, however, be pre-ordered for when stocks have been replenished.
