Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has warned it would be "crazy" to write off Germany ahead of their Euro 2020 showdown with England.
The two countries clash at Wembley in a blockbusting round of 16 clash on Tuesday evening with the Three Lions aiming to claim only their second-ever victory in a European Championships knockout tie.
While Gareth Southgate's side didn't concede a goal in finishing top of Group D, Germany required a late equaliser against Hungary to progress from Group F having earlier lost to favourites France.
But Klopp has pointed to his country's 4-2 win over Portugal as evidence Joachim Low's side can end England's hopes of Euros glory.
“To write off Germany now, it would be crazy,” the Reds boss told Bild in Germany.
“We played well against France, Portugal we dominated like hardly any other opponent in recent years.
“We struggled against Hungary, yes. But nothing more happened. Sometimes as a team you need such a game.
“And now we’re going to make a real go of it on Tuesday.”
Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson could be handed a starting role in England's midfield with Southgate pondering how best to deal with Germany's likely three-man defence.
Henderson revealed last week that Klopp had sent him a funny message the moment Germany set up their showdown with the Three Lions.
