Liverpool beat Blackburn Rovers 6-0 in Anfield friendly with Takumi Minamino among the goals

Liverpool ran out 6-0 winners against Blackburn Rovers in a behind-closed-doors friendly match at Anfield this afternoon.

The Reds warmed up for their return to Premier League action against Everton at Goodison Park by thrashing Championship opposition on home turf.

First-team regulars Naby Keita, Sadio Mane, Takumi Minamino and Joel Matip all got on the scoresheet for the hosts, while academy hopefuls Ki-Jana Hoever and Leighton Clarkson also netted.

A convincing victory over Tony Mowbray’s men represents the perfect preparation for the resumption of top-flight action next week.

However, not every Liverpool player took part in this latest Anfield runout.

Meanwhile, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was forced from the pitch with a knock, though it is not thought to be a serious issue for the England international.
