The BMW PGA Championship produced an enthralling finish as Alex Noren claimed the title in a thrilling playoff against Adrien Saddier, bringing a fitting end to the DP World Tour’s flagship event.
However, while the Swede won his second title in less than a month following victory in another big England-based event, the Betfred British Masters, many other players in the field can take plenty of positives from the four days of action at Wentworth.
Among the 138 players who competed in the tournament were nine LIV Golf stars.
While Noren and Saddier slugged it out in a playoff after finishing the tournament on 19 under, just three behind them was Patrick Reed.
He saved his best round of the tournament last with a 66 on Sunday, and even though it wasn’t quite enough to give him his fourth DP World Tour title, it continues a satisfying season for the American, with an earlier highlight being victory at LIV Golf Dallas.
Tyrrell Hatton began the final round the highest placed of the LIV Golf players, but even though he was pipped by Reed, he only finished one shot back of the 4 Aces GC star in T5.

Hatton’s Legion XIII teammate Tom McKibbin can also be pleased with his week’s work, having placed T11 on 14 under for the tournament.
Just one behind him was another Legion XIII player, captain Jon Rahm, who will likely consider his 13 under a solid enough display as attention begins to turn to the Ryder Cup, which gets underway at Bethpage Black in less than two weeks.

Another LIV Golf player who got to grips with the challenge of Wentworth well was the man Rahm beat to the Individual Championship, Joaquin Niemann, whose final round of 69 was enough to see him finish tied for 20th.
Of the players from the circuit who made the cut, Thomas Pieters finished the furthest down the leaderboard. He failed to produce a sub-70 round all week, but still finished on four under for the tournament to leave him in T66.
For three LIV Golfers, there was frustration, with five-time Major winner Brooks Koepka’s poor run of form continuing as he finished on one under to become one of the big names to miss the cut.
Stinger GC’s Dean Burmester finished with an identical score, while Adrian Meronk was the last of the LIV Golfers in the field after rounds of 77 and 69 ensured he missed the cut line by four to finish on two over.
Here is the final LIV Golf Leaderboard at the BMW PGA Championship.
