Little Mix star Perrie Edwards' accent surprises GMB viewers while opening up on self-isolation

Little Mix star Perrie Edwards surprised some Good Morning Britain viewers with her accent today.

The much-loved singer, who comes from South Shields near Newcastle, had a noticeable difference in her voice as she spoke from self-isolation.

Perrie has been in lockdown with boyfriend Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and the pair went viral with an amazing 'Stair Shuffle' dance on TikTok.

She admitted that her footballer boyfriend was like a kid with a whole bag of sweets because he has so much energy and confessed she was missing her Little Mix bandmates.

Some GMB viewers took to Twitter to point out a slight change in Perrie's accent.

One viewer tweeted: "Where is perrie edwards geordie accent gone? Is it in isolation?"

"Hahahhaah state of Perrie Edwards accent, another one to add to the Michelle Bass, Donna Air, Robson Green, Sting back catalogue," added another.

A third asked: "Why is Perrie now American? Has her Geordie accent gone into isolation"

The singer explained she had been getting on really well with Alex during the self isolation period and he was full of energy.

Perrie said: "Actually really well, not too bad. We’re just trying to stay positive and keep ourselves busy and I’ve just been doing loads of stuff like knitting, a bit of baking, random stuff I never normally have time for.”

"It’s like giving a child have Coca Cola and a whole bag of sweets and putting them in a room and keeping them in there. He’s got so much energy!"

GMB hosts Lorraine Kelly and Ben Shephard were very impressed with the couple's TikTok video which saw them dancing on the stairs.

Perrie explained: "It took me a good while. Alex learned straight away because he’s annoyingly good at everything, so he got it straight away and I just kept getting it wrong.

"He’s really good at stuff like that, but I kept getting scared on the stairs, like if I fell and broke an ankle. But it was really fun when we got it, it was brilliant."

Perrie's adorable dog Hatchi also made an unexpected appearance while she was being interviewed.

The Little Mix singer admitted that Hatchi has been feeling jealous of a new French Bulldog puppy Travis, which she recently brought home.

She confessed: "He’s being a bit over needy."

Good Morning viewers fell in love with Perrie's pet pooch and admitted they were getting distracted.

One viewer confessed: "I was trying to listen to Perrie talk about #BreakUpSong on #GMB but got distracted by Hatchi"

"Perri's dog on #GMB is giving me life @LittleMix," added another.

A third said: "Perries dog stealing the lime light love it"
