Little Mix are officially the most successful group in UK history after their latest single topped the chart over the weekend, it has been confirmed.
The girlband's new song Sweet Melody soared straight to number one on The Official Big Top 40 on Sunday.
It is Little Mix's sixth number one since they formed on X Factor in 2011, which is more number ones on The Official Big Top 40 than any other group or band.
Up until the weekend, the band, whose four members are Jade Thirlwall, Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perrie Edwards, were previously tied with fellow groups One Direction and Clean Bandit, who have five number one songs each.
Little mix released their sixth studio album Confetti on Friday, which also includes the former number one Break Up Song.
Their first number one was Wings, which was released in 2012, followed by Black Magic in 2015.
The following year they topped the charts with Shout Out To My Ex and in 2018 they scored a number one with Woman Like Me, which featured Nicki Minaj.
Break Up Song hit number one back in September.
Sweet Melody knocked previous number one Really Love by KSI, Craig David and Digital Farm Animals into sixth place.
Paul Harvey and the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra's 'Four Notes - Paul's Tune' stayed at number two.
Their latest number one comes after Little Mix hosted the MTV EMAs without Jesy Nelson and she missed the final of their show The Search.
A rep for the band said on Saturday: "Jesy is unwell and will not be appearing on tonight's final of Little Mix The Search.
"She will also not be hosting or performing at tomorrow's MTV EMAs."
