Lisburn woman "very worried" after pet foxes go missing

A Lisburn woman said she is "very worried" after her pet foxes got out when wind blew their pen down.

The almost one-year-old duo are cinnamon coloured silver foxes called CuRua and Twix and their distraught owner said they are "no danger to livestock or pets".

She is appealing for anyone who may have spotted the timid pair, who share their food with her cats, to get in touch.

Katryna Gamble told Belfast Live: "I'm very worried, they have no road sense at all and no way of feeding themselves.

"They escaped from my rescue centre, Equine Halfway House. "

Katryna said the special foxes were "surrendered to the rescue as were unhandled and their old owner couldn't find good homes for them.

"They are rising in numbers as pets in Ireland, over the last breeding season I know of four others that escaped, two North and two South.

"They don't know how to hunt, so will not survive long."

The furry disappeared from rural Lisburn last week.

"If someone has seen them they will know it," she added.

"They are no danger to livestock or pets, they share their food with our cats sometimes and are friends with the dogs, horses and goats.

"Both have the same colouring."

Anyone who has seen the foxes can let her know through social media here.
